There is a broad range of skin conditions that require professional medical care. Some conditions present as distinct lesions on the skin. In other cases, there can be broad involvement of a portion of a lower extremity. Diagnosis can be made through visual inspection, skin samples or using a variety of biopsy techniques to identify the specific condition. Once diagnosis is made, our foot and ankle specialists will implement a patient-specific treatment plan for the condition. This may include a topical treatment, oral treatment, or even removal of the lesion. Sometimes no treatment will be required, and we can simply monitor the area until the condition resolves itself.
