Robert S. Kipferl, DPM, FACFAS

It was during his undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Chicago that Robert Kipferl decided to pursue a career in medicine and, more specifically, to specialize in podiatry. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola, he went on to medical school and completed a four-year program to become a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He continued his studies by completing a residency in foot and ankle surgery at Lincoln West Memorial Hospital in Chicago where he was trained by a team of more than 40 board-certified foot surgeons.

Dr. Kipferl started in private practice in Des Plaines, IL in 1985. Not long afterward, Dr. Kipferl expanded his practice, opening offices in Barrington and Algonquin. Dr. Kipferl is thrilled that his oldest son, Dr. Steven Kipferl, recently joined his growing practice.

Board-certified Surgical Specialist

Dr. Robert Kipferl has over 38 years as a foot and ankle surgeon with extensive training in treating a wide range of foot and ankle problems. From common foot deformities such as bunions and hammertoes to complex deformities related to rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes, he offers decades of surgical expertise to patients. He is also a lifelong learner committed to educating himself in all of the newest techniques and technologies within the foot and ankle specialty medicine.

Dr. Kipferl’s team will be rendering services at the soon-to-be-opened Aurora Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Wound Care Clinic in Barrington, IL.

Practice Philosophy

Dr. Kipferl’s practice reflects his “patient comes first” philosophy. He is a strong believer in the importance of establishing strong doctor/patient relationships. Especially in this fast-changing world where independent medical practices are rapidly disappearing, Dr. Kipferl and his team recognize that earning trust requires making a commitment to treating patients on a personal level. The team at Kipferl Foot and Ankle Centers strives to create a positive patient experience from start to finish.
